Front of House team

Responsible to: Front of House Supervisor

Responsibility for: Providing a first class customer experience – serving food, drinks and spiritual ministry

Hours: Saturdays | Cover during busy periods

Wage: To be agreed, also potential internships and apprenticeships may be available

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring customers receive the best possible experience at our Miracle Café and learning best practice, hospitality & ministry skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Welcoming customers and seating them
  • Explaining the menu and the way that Miracle Café works and what we offer
  • Taking customers’ food & drink orders
  • Answering customers’ questions on the menu items
  • Preparing hot and cold drinks
  • Serving food and drinks
  • Keeping the serving station stocked and clean
  • Providing spiritual ministry where required (full training given)
  • Taking customer payments
  • Clearing tables
  • Help with dishwasher and washing up where needed
  • Cleaning of café and toilets when required
  • Full on the job training – customer service, hospitality, Christian ministry
  • Adhering to Food Safety Standards, maintaining high levels of cleanliness – we expect to maintain a 5* Hygiene rating at all times
  • Any other duties proportionate with the role as required by management

Personal requirements, skills & qualifications

Criteria Essential Desirable
Qualifications/Knowledge: A heart to serve others Christian ministry training
Work Related Experience: Hard working Hospitality or barista training
  Keen to learn  
Skills/Abilities & Special Attributes: Cheerful personality Christian ministry experience
  Ability to adapt to change Customer service experience
  Ability to stay calm under pressure Hospitality experience
  Good organisation & time management skills  
  Good communication skills  
  Work well as a team  
Faith  A follower of Jesus (or would like to be)
