Job Description – Part-time Cook 

Responsible to: Head Chef & Café Manager

Responsibility for: Producing quality meals and functions

Hours:  Mondays, holiday cover and other hours including evenings

Pay:      To be agreed

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for various aspects of kitchen, hygiene, prep and cooking and will work closely with the Head Chef and Cafe Manager in the day-to-day preparation and presentation of food, cleaning and washing up in the Miracle Café kitchen. Also catering for functions as and when.

Responsibilities include:

  • Helping to prepare high quality meals for customers from the menu every Monday & holiday cover
  • Working within a small team within a fast-paced and pressurised environment
  • Preparing food ensuring they match menu specifications and meet the quality standard and presentation
  • Being trained and Adhering to Food Safety Standards, maintaining high levels of cleanliness in the kitchen at all times – we expect to maintain a 5* Hygiene rating at all times
  • Keeping the kitchen clean, washing up
  • Any other duties proportionate with the role as required by Chef & Cafe Manager
  • Catering for small functions at the Miracle Café as and when required (including some evenings / weekends)

Qualifications/Knowledge: A passion for food GCSEs

Health & Safety Certificates

Work Related Experience: Chef or cooking experience
Skills/Abilities & Special Attributes: Ability to stay calm under pressure
